The students in 1st grade created a three-dimensional cityscape. During the 1st class, we discussed skyscrapers, different roof lines, and variety- different sizes and colors for their buildings. The children created at least 4-5 buildings with windows and doors. During the 2nd class, the students made their buildings stand up on a base to make them 3-D. Some of the students also added a sidewalk and a road. The students made their buildings overlap by placing larger buildings in the back and smaller ones in the front. They really enjoyed this lesson!

The 1st day in art, the students created a painted paper with stripes, etc. The next time in art, the children collaged a face, used oil pastels for hair, eyes, jacket, snowflakes, etc. Then they created winter mittens and a hat from their painted paper. I think their self-portraits look great!
